Peak-to-Average Power Ratio Analysis in Multicode CDMA

This paper analyzes the Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) problem in Multicode-Code Division Multiple Access (MC-CDMA) systems. The statistical distribution of PAPR is derived and the achievable PAPR reduction for a given code rate is estimated. We show that the PAPR in MC-CDMA communications systems can be reduced by Partial Transmit Sequence (PTS) and Selected Mapping (SLM) approaches. In PT...

On Codes with Low Peak-to-Average Power Ratio for Multi-Code CDMA

Codes which reduce the peak-to-average power (PAPR) in multi-code code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) communications systems are systematically studied. The problem of designing such codes is reformulated as a new coding-theoretic problem: codes with low PAPR are ones in which the codewords are far from the rst-order ReedMuller code. Bounds on the trade-o between rate, PAPR and error-correc...

CDMA Signature Sequences with Low Peak-to-Average-Power Ratio via Alternating Projection

Several algorithms have been proposed to construct optimal signature sequences that maximize the sum capacity of the uplink in a direct-spread synchronous code division multiple access (CDMA) system. These algorithms produce signatures with real-valued or complexvalued entries that generally have a large peak-to-average power ratio (PAR). This paper presents an alternating projection algorithm ...

Peak-to-Average Ratio Reduction with Analog Codes

| Multi-tone modulation (DMT, Discrete Multitone, OFDM, Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex) has the disadvantage of a quite high peak-toaverage ratio. Clipping of the high amplitudes caused by the analog circuitry leads to additional noise. In this contribution we show that in principal so-called Analog Codes (Reed-Solomon Codes over complex numbers) can be used for eliminating this noise.
